[s-type] front end rattle

My 2005 s type does not ride well over rough road surfaces.
Rattles. I asked my service manager if it needed new
swtruts/shocks. He said this model never needs new struts/shocks.
Does anyone have a clue? Bushings? strut mounts?–

A service manager said you DON’T need new parts?
Anyway if it rattles at slow speed on the least little
bumps, my guess is anti-roll bar links. I replaced all 4 on
mine, MOOG brand from one of the online parts vendors.–

I recently did work on my 2000 S-Type and it all boiled down
to shock mounts and stabilizer bushings. Get the car in the
air and look at it. It could be something loose! As for the
service managers comments I would imagine he was talking
about the shocks. The link below is what I did to my car
and I did not change the shocks.

A Rattle not a knock normally ends up being an anti roll linkage.
Turn the wheels right to check right or left for left depending
what side you are checking, grab the short vertical link (bar) at
the front bottom of the suspension strut. (Its about 6 to 8 inches
long from memory) Give it a shake and you will feel if not hear if
its worn. I find its better to do it with the weight of the car on
the wheels rather than up in the air. If its not that then check
this out

or search for it on you tube under
