Dear Jaglovers
Have a problem with my S-Type R xenon. The driver site Xenon goes out partially
when I drive over sills. When the vehicle is switched off and on,
both xenon lights burn.
The driver’s site also flickers before it happen and turns off (xenon).
Is this a bad contact? If yes, where? Did someone already have this problem?

Hi
I had the problem with my xenon lights flickering and then going out.
Checked all the standard stuff, fuses, harnesses, ground connection. No problem.
Light bulb and ignitor tested ok.
Only option left was the ballast.
Took only 10 minutes to get it out.
and another 10 to open it.
Once inside I notice the MOS-FET next to the small transformer has come loose from its back weld.
Re-welded it.
And WHAM - LIGHTS
A really simple fix that will save you the cost of a new ballast. Just because of one bad weld.
I notice there are a lot of questions on flickering xenon lights and bad ballasts our there, not just on the X-Type.
I am certain very many of those, using this type ballast, is caused by the same problem. It’s certainly a design/manufacturing issue.
