According to the wiring diagram figure 07.1, there is a
switch located under the seat cushion, with a grey
connector, a black wire and a white/black wire. This
operates the seat belt chime. The diagram does not indicate
whether this switch connection activates or deactivates the
chime. Try disconnecting it and see if the chime stops. If
it chimes all the time now, then tape the switch closed and
it should stop. If it still doesn’t stop, your switch is
dead. Replace the switch and it should now work normally. If
you simply find the chime annoying, a permanent solution
would be to cut the connector and jumper across the two wires.

Back in the early days of seat belts I knew a guy with a GTO
that would not start unless you had the seat belt buckled.
He was one of those rebel types that would not be forced to
wear a seat belt, so he pulled it around the back of the
seat back and left it buckled there all the time.–

When I worked at the Jaguar dealer I asked a fellow at
Jaguar Technical Hotline about disabling the chime. He said
it was ‘not a good idea’ BUT…

I think it was something like Start the engine, do not put
the car in gear.

Fasten and unfasten the belt 10 times in a row.

I think that will disable but it was more than a decade ago
and I don’t remember if it was the X200 or the X202 car?

Try it and see if that works.
