[s-type] Window, left front, feels like track problems

When raising and lowering the window, the sound that there is a
problem is becoming more noticible, as if (just assuming here) the
nylon track guides, if there are any, are wearing out. The window
motor sounds strong. It sounds more like the window is getting very
close to sliding off its track.

I’m skeptical about taking my car to the only area dealer and
having them sell me the whole motor assembly plus installation,
when it maybe a couple nylon guides causing the problem.

Suggestions and costs estimates are very appreciated.–

The regulators are available seperately from Jaguar or a
Ford/Lincoln LS dealer. bob–

Wow I didn’t know they were modular and easy to swap out. That
hole looks like a challenge to work in though. I’ll order a
regulator Wednesday. I’ll probably order a package of plastic door
panel pins as well. Spite my carefulness with plastic pins over
the years, not many have survived.

Thanks guys for the recommendations.

GusG,
Just wanted to say, your directions were perfect and in 45 minutes,
I had a new regulator in the car. This is one of the easiest
projects I’ve done.

The Jag dealer said the complete job would be $390 w/tax. I bought
a regulator for an '01 Lincoln LS for $158 w/tax.

THANK YOU!
