Subject: Expansion tank for S-type

Dear Listers

First of all, I want to use this opportunity to wish you all a merry
Christmas and a very joyful new year.

On the subject of cooling, I have fitted an expansion tank on my S-type
which solved the problem of having anti-freeze on the garage floor. I
installed a Toyota coolant tank which fitted quite nicely onto the
bracket intended for the screen washer bottle. All I had to do was to
bent the bracket upwards which then slid into the back of the expansion
tank. No additional holes had to be drilled and it looks very
“original”. My question relates to the type of pressure cap to be used
on the radiator. What happens is that the radiator pushes the coolant
into the expansion tank, but does not suck it back when cooling off.
Any advice would be appreciated.
