[Saloon-lovers] Finding an mk2

Folks;

Have been lurking here for better than a year…and I have learned a lot
and stored a lot of information. Why? oh you know. Quite simply i think
the most beautiful cars i have ever seen are early Jaguars, especially
mk2’s. It also happens that my status has changed enough that i might
actually be able to afford one. I am looking for something to drive and
not to display, so we don’t need perfection. My main requirement would be
a manual transmission. Lately i have found i prefer woodwork to metalwork
so i don’t even mind some modern mechanicals. My question is
simple…where would you look? I live is western MT, usa, and there are
really none of these cars about that i know of…i really don’t see any of
these cars for sale.

Hi Greg,
You could post a “Wanted” on the UP exchange here on Jag Lovers and see what
that brings. There are a lot of folks out there with cars and I’m sure that
by doing more of what you’ve just done. . … getting the word out . . .
you’ll make the contact you want.

Lots of luck!

Greg,

They’re around. They’re everywhere, in fact. But before we tell where to
look, you need to tell us more:

What’s your budget?

What’s your favorite color?
What’s color can’t you stand?

Does it have to have wire wheels?

Can it be a 3.4 or do you need to have the 3.8?

There. That ought to do for now. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Remember, they’re everywhere.

Greg-Contact the clubs, especially in areas where the climate is good and cars
rust free (or close). You should find a good car, priced fairly, maybe even a
project that needs a home…Nick F.
