[Saloon-lovers] GENEVIEVE - A LOVE STORY

Several years ago I bought a car that was the subject of a
book, ‘‘Genevieve - A Love Story’’. It is a Mark 9 and I would love
to hear from anyone familiar with that particular car and the
former owner, Harry Smedley.

I met Harry and ‘‘Genevieve’’ once or twice at the Chicago
British Car Festival back in the early 1990s. I remember he
was a pleasant grey haired old gentleman and she was green
and not restored but a reasonably well maintained driver.
I believe he named her Genevieve after a movie made in 1953
about a 1904 Darracq named Genevieve driving in the London
to Brighton run.–
