[Saloon-lovers] Mk10 Flywheel

Please excuse my ignorance of the Mk10 (I have owned a 420G in
the past but I am not familiar with the Mk10). I have a very
early prototype V12 engine which may have shared duties
between the XJ13 and a Mk10 for on-the-road testing in
1960s/70s. I am confused by the presence of a solid flywheel
(as fitted to manual cars) and wondered whether Mk10s were
supplied with manual boxes?–

Do you mean you have a 4 cam V-12 engine? Thought those were all
accounted for? There are a lot of good pics of a MK10/420G ‘‘test
mule’’ with the V-12 in it!–

Yes I do … the initial excitement still hasn’t worn off! If
you are interested in seeing more details, pics etc check out
my blog at http://www.xj13.eu

Could you please point me in the direction of the pictures you
mentioned? At this stage, I am trying to get together as much
info on the engine as possible.

Start with Paul Skilleter’s Jaguar Saloon Cars p316-318. (Great pic
of possibly your engine) then go to Viart’s Jaguar Limousinen pp
346-348 (sorry my copy is in German). Good luck.–
