[Saloon-lovers] Steering box adjustment on the 420G

I need to tighten it up slightly.
Problem is the screw is locked into the securing nut.
I unwound the nut a bit, still not able to turn the screw.
I then fastened the nut again.

I am tempted to unscrew the nut, with the screw, and separate them
using a vice, creep oil etc etc.

Anybody been through this before???–

Funny enough, I was with my BMW mechanic friend yesterday.
He was taking a manual steering box apart. Same worm and roller box
as the 420G. I now see how it works and what needs to be done.
We will ‘‘simply’’ remove the box and open it on the workbench,
thereby separating the nut and adjustment screw.–
