Series1 3.8 ots seat removal?

Remove the seat bottom cushion. You will find four studs, nuts and oval washers. Remove the four nuts, and washers, and lift the seats up and out.

so the two rear seat frame screws do not need to be removed?

Only if you want to remove the tracks too

Slide the seat forward. At the rear of the tracks are 1 screw on each track which holds the track to the floor - remove those screws.

At the front of each track there is a notch which slips into a mushroom-shaped fitting mounted to the floor. Once the rear screws are removed, you can now push the seat and tracks backwards which should slip that track notch off the floor fitting. The seat is now free and can be lifted out.

These photos might help. He first shows the hole where the screws at the rear of the tracks screws in, plus the mushroom fitting toward the front of the seat. Second photo shows the front end of the track (seat is flipped upside down) and how the a lot on the track that slips under that mushroom fitting.

No, that is only for 4.2 seats…
