Side of the road shutdown, mystery "shudder"

I had the same death “shudder” in my 69 and it was the Pertronix module that failed. I had taken a chance on Pertronix after many years of avoiding them. I know some have had great success, but not me. I also didn’t like the idea that if the ignition was on (perhaps to test a component) and the car not running, that it could fry the Pertronix. I did go with the 123 electronic distributor and its companion Bosch coil and recommended plug wires. My OE distributor was 50 years old and probably had other issues. The 123 system is an investment, but after reading the threads about them here, it was an easy decision for me.
