Question by a non-technical F-Type owner: I’ve noticed that the side vents on my F-Type V6s are actually closed with a piece of plastic behind. Are these vents just for aesthetics or do they have a real function?

Good question - I don’t know. I’m going to have to take a closer look at the vents on my car one of these days. Same question applies to the hood vents. Are they functional?
I think the hood vents do have a function. At least they’re open and show the supercharger on the V6s. After a while when driving, you can see the heat of the supercharger coming out of the vents, so I guess they’re for cooling and ventilation. The ones on the side are completely shut, but perhaps they open when driving? Or would that be too much sience fiction?
