Since the speedo and odometers on the early '69-73 S1 cars separate, fixing the speedo does not correct the odometer. I tried (after installing 2"88 gears since they were not available in the early models) to put in
later S3 speedo and odometer parts in my S1… not successful i getting it working properly ALL the time.
So I put a GPS speedo/odometer into my S1 speedo housing… it is 100% accurate. Speedh
ut will put on different pointer colors (I have since painted mine white), back light colors an you gain lots of other features… 0-60 timer, 1/4 mile timer, altimeter, highest speed since the last reset… It looks really well in the car…
