SU hd6 adjustment

Would an SU carb also stall the engine when you fully close (turn down) the air screw?

as far as I recall, yes it should on the HD6, as it fully closes off all air thru the butterfly and there is no
“slow running” circuit, as on the HD8, but I could be wrong, and stand ready to be corrected, as always.

Actually, thanks to the balance pipe, if the other carb is rich enough the XK will run on just one carb.

Yes, I did it. Got interrupted while setting the carbs up, and when I got back to the car, I’d forgotten that I hadn’t backed off the bypass on the read carb, but only screwed it fully in.

Car started and ran though.

Thanks, did the same the other day hence my question!
