Just finished restoring an SU AUA 57 petrol pump, to be used as a spare for my 1954 XK 120.
Used the EPK 805 kit (for the older 3" long version) and everything went fine. During the disassembly, however, I noticed a lead seal under one of the screws. It is a (brass?) strip with one larger hole for the 2BA screw and two additional holes through which a the lead seal is “punched”.
Does anybody seen these seals? It might be a “factory replacement part” or was it generally applied in production?
Also note the date code of this pump. Following Roger Payne’s earlier information, 1 M probably stands for January 1955 (which seems correct for this type of pump).
