My '56 Mk 1 has a steel oil pan with the round oil filter basket that is held in place with 8 bolts. The bolts are 5/16 - 24 TPI.
Can anyone tell me the torque spec for these 8 bolts? I assume it is around 15 ft lbs.
Thanks

A Google search of Bolt Torque found many torque charts.
Most say 5/16-24UNF Grade 2 oiled bolts should be torqued to 9 ft lbs or 112 inch lbs.
Thanks Rob.
I found a torque value chart that had specs for Grade 8 5/16-24 bolts. It had a dry value of 27 and a lubricated value of 20. I torqued to 15 ft lbs. Will soon know if it holds oil. Currently doing the “1/4 oz oil/day in each spark plug hole” test.
Grade 8 is way overkill.
Grade 2 bolts are all you need there.
If you are using the original bolts, that’s probably what they are, the British equivalent being 45D55 marked on the head.
