hi, my trac fail & anti lock warning lights come on when i drive off down the road and stay on untill i stop and turn car off. on restart they are off then as i drive off again they come on. what would be the first things to start checking. thanks.
Wheel sensors give them a good clean with a pressure washer in particular the LHS rear one.
That usually works for me and has done so over the 10 years I’ve run my X300.
It’s the one that is used for the Speedo, the light comes on as I reach 15 mph.

My X305 V12 sometimes has the same problem. The ABS/TRAC system does a self test when you drive off at around 12mph when you should hear the ABS pump buzz as it operates briefly. If the system doesn’t pass the test then you get the associated lights.
Cleaning the wheel sensor plugs and the plug for the ABS motor and also the large multi pin plug on the side of the ABS unit will often clear the problem.

My 95 XJ12 had this issue - was a cold solder joint in the module. Seems like it could be a few things. Good luck.
