My recovery project on the 25yrs in a garage v12 is now drivable.
I couldn’t have done it without your help. Thanks to Kirbert and many others for your advice.
For any others contemplating doing something like this I will say when you’re driving it on the open road you will feel a great sense of accomplishment.
I know it still needs more but I can at least enjoy it now.
I have a list of things to not do if anyone is interested.
Do not attempt to use opus ignition. It will deceive you so many times.
Do not assume any system will actually work until you rebuild it.
Cross your fingers that the engine is not one of them. Mine seems pretty solid. Good oil presssure, no smoke or oil consumption, a little chatter in top end on start up but settles down.
Assume all cooling components, transmission and rubber hoses are toast despite outward appearance.
I will soon be considering if the heater core is leaking, I’m ignoring it for now.
