Hi, does anyone know where to get (UK, preferably) a crank
damper/pulley for my '93 XJ12 6.0. According to my local Jag
dealer, these are no longer available new.

Nat, damper/pulley is same as 5.3 when they started using the
serpintine belt.
If you cannot get one, I have several, I think extra.

Nat. I believe somewhere around 91 or so, for the belt.
Now THERE IS A DIFFERENCE. The 6.0 damper did not use the tapered
cone as the early 5.3 did. I cannot remember what year the 5.3 quit
the cone, but again I think around 91, 92.
There should be a ton of the 91,92,93 5.3 cars around so you should
be able to find one.
Like I said if you cannot, I do have some extras.

OK, so what are the odds that the 6.0 damper will slide right onto
the 5.3 crank where the cone came off?

It will go right on the 5.3 crank.
So it’s not a problem then? Either the late 5.3 damper (w/ cone and
ribbed belt) or the 6.0 damper will work on the late 5.3 w/ ribbed
alt belt?

It may have been a hold over or someone changed it. Every 94 6.0
engine I have seen and built, has not had the cone.
