[v12-engine] 89 Marelli missing

In reply to a message from Byrnal Haley sent Sat 29 Mar 2003:

Is it an original Marelli cap? Are the plugs gapped at .025.
Might have to pull wire off each plug in the A bank and see which
one it is and possible do compression check in that particular
cylinder. How about the rotor? I wonder how the spray pattern is
in that one injector?–

Help, It seems that one cylinder on the A bank in misfiring. 3/05/02 new
distributor cap, Magnecor wires, new plugs, all injectors cleaned. Car has
been running beautifily. I do a lot of short trips in it, hardly giving it
time to warm up. It is a daily drever. Battery checks 12.5 with engine off
and 13.16 while running. All injectors are fireing. Would pulling the
distributor cap be the next step, and if so, how do I determine if it is
damaged? Any comments will be appreciated.

How did you determine that the one cylinder was missing?
Which one is it?

sounds like a V12 problem due to short cool trips. A man said to me once " never start your V12 unless you intend taking it up to temp" as the plugs coke up so easily in these motors unless they are given a run. City boys with their short trips is one cause and the other is when you are working on the motor and start it up for short times a lot of times. What she probably needs is an Italian tune up. Blow her pipes out on the highway and you might be surprised
