I have a 77 XJ12L that I drive very rarely. The transmission shifting from
1st to 2 was kind of labored and recently … it just quit shifting. The
archives point to the modulator being a source of this particular problem.
Can someone tell me what a good source / part number of this modulator is?
The tranny is the GM400 type.

You can Google “th400 modulator” and you’ll find umpteen on-line vendors.
or, visit your neighborhood transmission shop or even an ordinary parts
store.
Check your vacuum line first, though.
