[v12-engine] Update on Bernard Embden

My name is Bernard Embden. I have been off the list for
quite a few years after I sold my XJ-S.
My health is somewhat better, so out of curiosity, and to
see if the old core of people were still there, still giving
out invaluable advice that keeps these great cars on the
road, I tried to re-join the list but to no avail. There
seems to be a problem with me receiving the final passwords.
I emailed Ed Sowell and he tried to help but we were
unsuccessful.
I then searched the web version of the XJ-s list and was
surprised to find that quite a few list members believed
that I was dead. (smile). Well, as they say, the rumor of my
demise has been greatly exaggerated.
Just to recap, some of you might remember I sold my V12 XJ-S
some years ago due to my failing health. Even though my
health has stabilized somewhat, my doctor has told me that
my days of laying on concrete or crawling over and under
cars are over.
This has forced me to re-evaluate my priorities, and the
wife has constantly encouraged me to buy another car that
would fuel my passion again. So I have bought a car that I
have lusted after ever since I saw the first James Bond movie.
I am posting this on the XJS and V-12 forums, because those
were the forums that I participated in all those years and
there are hopefully some people that have wondered what I
have been doing after I left Jag lovers.
For those of you interested, I have added a few pictures to
my website.

Hello Bernard:
Welcome back to JL. Glad to hear that you’re well.
I joined JL after you’d departed, but have seen many of your
posts and have browsed through your webpage many, many
times.
Invaluable!

As far as the AM goes – you’ve got yourself an awesome
ride. I like it very much.

Best regards,
Steve–

Bernard I too have benefited from your XJS postings through
the years and will continue to follow your Aston Martin
postings as I also made the move to a DB7 Vantage so keep them
coming.

My highly modified 1986 XJS coupe that was purchased new
continues to be a source of pleasure as I still search to
improve it both electrically and mechanically while
maintaining its flawless ride and classic cosmetics. My
current goal is to minimize the xjs 6.0L starting rotations to
approach the newer designed Aston Martin V-12 immediate
starting sequence.

Hello Berhard, wel omr back as you seem to have succeeded
in rejoining. Sean Straw was the IT guru for J-L software
after Tony Bailey moved elsewhere and Sean was also the
XJ-S admin (and V12 Admin IIRC?) but he too has mostly
dropped out of J-L work, hence no new site software as we
had hoped some years ago.

Your wife sounds lije a good 'un, urging you to get a nice
car!

Bernie, glad you’re feeling better and welcome back! I
referred to your website many times for my XJ-S and XJ12
projects. Ironically I bought a v12 DB7 just a couple of weeks
ago. Regards, Vlad–
