Very Hot Black box on top of v12 engine

I have a 1989 Daimler double six here in the philippines. A few years back there were two members who help me solved my engine. No start and they just told me to open the small black small box on top of the engine and change the resistor. It work! Now that small black box is very hot and the idling is a little erratic. Please help.

Search for “Ignition Amplifier”, you will find a plethora of posts.
You have to change the GM module, easy and inexpensive.
