My engine has been sitting for a while and I want to ‘squirt’ some stuff down the spark plug holes to help preserve it while in storage, the question is WHAT should I use ?

Gary, I have used Marvel Mystery Oil for years in hibernating auto and marine engines with great results.

FWIW, I would absolutely recommend the same.
MMO then shooting liberally with fogging oil spray a good 10seconds per cylinder is what I’ve always done for storage and bringing an old xk motor back to life.
I second that and do so for at least a week and then crank the engine over with the plugs removed.
It will spray fluid a long distance, stand back
