What upper A-arms do I have?

Moving my mk2 project around I noticed the upper A-arms are different than what I usually see. I have some extras of the usual parts.

Did the early mk2 sedans get this style shown?

The pressed arms were fitted to the very early models, soon to be replaced by the solid cast steel ones.

Thanks for confirming. I looked in my parts book and couldn’t find this style only the cast type.

I have a set of cast arms in my spares. Is there any advantage of one over the other? Or are the stamped type weaker?

That looks the same like my MK1 front suspension.
Is the lower balljoint also on a angle, like the MK1.
I replaced my MK1 front suspension for a S-type version.
It is a straight replacement, that gives better handling.

. I suppose the cast ones might be a bit stronger, but unless you’re belting it around a race track, it won’t make any difference. The MK1 had the same pressed arms.

Hi, i do not recognise that shape as mk1. Got a 2,4 and a 3,4 and both looks like in below picture taken from the 2,4/3,4 workshop manual. Could it be specific to early mk2?
