Windscreen washers

I have a 1968 Jaguar Mk 2 240. The plastic tubes to the windscrree washer jets needs to be replaced.
I have removed the panel under the glove box but that doesn’t appear to give me the access that I need.
Can anyone give me advice.

David,

If I am not mistaken you need to remove the wood fascia (instrument and glovebox side) and the dash top to get to the wingnuts.

The middle section just needs to be hinged down to give you access to the “T” joining the tubing.

It isn’t really all that big a job. Read the manual carefully, there is a bit inside the glovebox that you need to remove to get at the fasteners holding the outer edge to the body.

Thanks Andrew. I will get to it.
David

a set of extra-long needle-nosed pliers is a godsend for this job, and/or long-nosed with tip at 90 degrees

Thanks for this.
Apparently it appears that I can probably handle thus job OK

When you’re looking at your scratched wrists, and feeling sorry for yourself… go and try it on an e-type.

On the saloons, it is a bother. On the E… it really, really, really is a challenge.
