wipers quit, fuse is good, have new wiper switch. have power to washer motor only. wiper motor bench test-good-. what else to look at??? michael 85 xjs
The stalk switch is a notorious troublemaker, sometimes even when new. There’s a spring-loaded contact in there that distorts a circuit plate with age. It may have done this on your brand new switch just sitting on a shelf for 25 years.
So according to the diagram if you unplug the wiper switch connector and apply Ground to pin 7 and +v to pin 4 of the connector (car side), that should make the wipers run in Fast mode and would confirm if your switch is bad. ground to pin 7 and +12v to pin 5 should make it run in slow mode. Pin 1 has +12v and pin 2 is ground.
