[x-type] Colour Code help please

It seems I now have two Jags on the trot where the code is
missing. Log book says green and it is but it is also blue!! It’s
a two tone like the old mods trousers. Can anyone advise of the
code please?–

The description is vague, but the colour is probably the polychromatic
EMERALD (1998-2002) which is a colour that shifts from green to blue as the
light changes and you move around the car. In some lights it looks like
metallic Racing Green. If so, then the colour code is HGG. A beautiful
colour when properly polished and waxed and when the sun hits it. I had this
on a 2002 X-Type - and I bought it because of the colour!

Many thanks for that Gregory. It’s amazing how it works and
I had no idea when I saw it advertised. It was a miserable
day and the car was blue and I walked past it thinking it
was not the correct car. I agree, I love it.
Cheers

Its like Gregory says, sometimes its blue sometimes its green,
I have the same problem explaining it to my wife.

It also depends how many drinks you had.

I looked at this colour when I was looking for my first X
Type years ago. I looked around mid day and it really
sparkled and I went back and looked when dusk was creeping
in and if I had not noted the number plate I would have
thought they had moved the car - totally different colour!
Eventually bought a pale metallic blue - had that for
several years but now owned 2.2 diesel SE for 8 years in
chilli - great car - I should have bought a newer one when
they said that they were stopping manufacture. Waiting for
real user reports on XE which sounds good at this stage.
