[x-type] X-Type 2.5 Daytime Running lights

Hello everyone,

I’m new to the forum and am in the process of purchasing an '03 X-
Type from the United States. I will be importing this vehicle into
Canada and one of the requirements is to get daytime running lights
working on it.

I ran a quick search through the forum and found some mention of
DRL but nothing on how I can get the X-Type retrofitted for it and
what costs would be involved.

Has anyone attempted this or knows what route to take? Any help
would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!–

Hi ?(nice to know names),

Welcome and hope you have great enjoyment with it, what’s the
model spec?

I recall this coming up a couple of years ago, recall it being a
very simple dealer s/w reset, therefore would expect a US dealer
could easily do it prior to your importing the car.

Regards,–

Gday from the great white (green) north. It would be a
simple matter of hooking the ignition switch to the low
beams. On the X the daytime lights are 100% ON ALL THE TIME.
Hence the reason we were blowing bulbs all the time a few
years back. They are better now. Any mechanic can do this
for you.–
