[x300] Body Processor Module 1996 XJ6

The module says it is programmable…anyone know how I do
this, so I can determine if it is faulty? Problem: the
functions it controls are not working, including key
cranking (it starts and runs fine when a remote starter is
used). Also cannot find the Security & Locking Control
Module, which is supposed to be in front left of trunk.
(Obviously I have electrical issues!) I have managed to get
a hold of the 55 page wiring diagram, as I now realise that
a workshop manual for this year is not yet available, or is
there one somewhere?–

Laird,

A workshop manual is available through the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust
(www.jdht.com under eShop). It’s scans of the factory service and parts
manuals and includes the wiring diagram.

I know this was decades ago but did you ever resolve it, please? I have the exact same problem now in 2024. Regards, Bo Andersen

Hi Bo, I didn’t have the car too long after this, but the problem was fixed by purchasing a used module from ebay. Plugged it in, & everything worked.! That was a beaut of a car, I loved it. Even the Jag mechanics raved about it (although I couldn’t afford to let them service it!). Good luck.

Thanks. Was it the big ECM module under the passenger dash with the huge blue and yellow connectors?

It was under the passenger dash.

“passenger” side could be left-hand or right-hand side

Correct. My X300 was a left hand drive USA vehicle. Therefore blah blah…!!
