Hi,
I want to install a used Harmon Kardon amplifier in a standard 97
XJ6. Can anyone tell me where to find the existing speaker wires
to connect to the amp? Hopefully they can be easily found in the
boot, but I am unable to find them. I would assume the car would be
prewired for the HK upgrade.
The car also has the OEM cd changer located on left hand side.
Also, do you know how to find the connectors that will fit into the
HK amp?
Any other gotcha’s I should know?

I think you will find this to be a difficult install. The two
systems have very different wiring arrangements to the speakers.
Also, owning the HK amp is only part of the puzzle. You still will
have to locate a sub to go with it. Look to the archives and you
will see there are very limited options (due to size restrictions)
and those that are available are costly.
You may want to upgrade your existimng door speakers, and down the
road, if you need more, change the head unit and add a conventional
amp.–
