[x300] Radiator cooling fans run all the time

Hello and thanks in advance for your help. I recently purchased my
1995 xj6 and found that the radiator cooling fans run all the time
even with the key removed. The first night I had the car the next
morning the battery was dead. I replaced the cooling fan switch
located on the radiator but they still run. I have resulted in
taking the fuse out every night so not to kill the battery. What
else could be the issue? Thanks again, Bob.–

Some of the early cars were wired from new, or modifed, to keep the
fans on low speed at all times by jumpering one of the AC [ressure
switches on the firewall (lter deleted). There was a Jag tech
bulletin about it and if you do a few archives searches here you’ll
see this has been covered many times. In the UK it’s not as hot as
elsewhere so I preferred the normally-off setup but I’ve had
standaard off, standard on and modifed on.

The new bit is someone having them run to the point of flattening
the battery after the key is out. There IS a run-on function to
cool things for the heat soak period, but they should switch off
once the temp switch opens again.
