[x300] sport switch light -- part number

Gary Manning in Oregon recently posted a Radio Shack part number of 7219. I
had trouble finding that on line, but I did find a part 272-1092, 12v 60mA
that had long wire leads on them that fit the description someone else
posted of a bulb on which the leads can be shortened to fit the length of
the Jag part, then wound around the terminals.

Of course, having done this homework, my local Radio Shack, which the
on-line computer showed as having this in stock, had none. Murphy’s law. The
bin also had a space for a 14v bulb with a higher mA rating, and a picture
that appeared to be the same as the 12v bulb … but again, nothing. Guess
I can ask them to order the bulb then call me when it comes in.

The price was, as Gary described, a whopping $1.79 for two. I just hate it
when repair parts are so darned pricey!

One thing to be aware of on some of these bulbs is the heat they
generate. Generally, it is better to use the 14v bulb than a 12v
bulb. I wish I could tell you the correct rating on the originals,
but never could find it. In any case, always look for the coolest
possible bulb.–
