I was wondering if any one has a template for a camshaft timing
tool. I do not have access to one and I can imagine that ordering
one from Jaguar will be costly. I dont believe making one would be
difficult at all.
Thanks

Mike,
Look on ebay under “Car & Truck Parts”. Just type Jaguar in the
search. There’s usually one listed there or any of our “usual suspects”
stock them for under $10 if I recall.

From the JEC site it would appear that the X300 6 cyl
camshaft setting tool is the same as the XJ40 - part # 18G1433A.
That being so, can I suggest an alternative which can be
made from this template. It has the advantage of holding
both camshafts at TDC #1 cylinder at the same time.
