Hello again everyone.
It’s been quite some time since I’ve been on here and, as before, I’m here when I need some advice if that’s OK.
My’04 XJ6 3.0 (X350) has started to develop an occassional ‘cracking/creaking’ noise from the steering. It could be a couple of different things but experience tells me it could be the rack itself. The car itself has done about 96 thou miles. There’s no stiffness or notch in the steering itself and it passed the UK MOT no issues about 3 months ago.
I’m doing some initial research here and was wondering if anyone has had this before and what they did? Maybe there’s a grease nipple that’s not been done for a while, maybe it’s a possible rack replacement? Fluid reservoir is good but I don’t recall ever asking for a flush of the fluid in the years I’ve had her.
