Willie,
Don’t keep us in suspense. Details, man. Details.
Welcome to the list, BTW !

Hey Doug,
It’s a 1982 Series III XJ6, black with a trashed tan leather interior,
it’s
got almost 92,000 miles on it, although the odometer seems to be
registering
1.2 miles for each actual mile driven, the horn is connected to a small
box
on the parcel dash, and the paint has a few small imperfections. Now for
the good part: I get a dopey grin on my face whenever I drive it, look at
it, or even think about it! My sister-in-law asked me if it was a babe
magnet, and it has been to a small extent, but so far it seems to be more
of
a guy magnet (Hey dude, is that yours?! Cool!).

I’ll be replacing the u-joints pretty soon, but other than that there
doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with it mechanically. As soon as I get
my----- Original Message -----
hands on a digital camera I’ll be posting a few pics. Thanks for the
welcome, it’s good to be here!

Willie,

That’s pretty much a normal phenomenon. I doubt that it will stop occurring.
Well, there may moments when it waxes and wanes, but it’ll always really be
there.

Charlie,

Um… a larger diameter tire will “slow down” the speedo and odo. So, if
Willie has 215/70 tires instead of 205/70 his odometer will read less than
the actual distance, not more.

Now, back to quarts and ounces…!

If the cars imported it might have a KM odometer like mine.
