My transmission died in my series 3 XJ6, and I want to put a
4hp22 transmission into the car instead of the old one. I
already have the transmission at the garage I am using, but
does anyone have a tip on what adaptor(s) I will need to
make it fit my 4.2 l engine (XJ6 from 1986) - and where I
can by it/them. Does there exist a kit?
Would love to hear of any leads you might have.

An outfit in the UK offers a conversion kit. I can’t remember their name but
I remember the price…about $5000, including the transmission itself. Not
sure if they’d sell just the adaptor pieces.
Somebody will chime in with more info.

There was a series of articles in Jaguar World recently ( last
instalment was the July issue) where they put this transmission into a
Mark 10. Doesn’t look simple or cheap, but doable. G Whitehouse did it:
