[xj] A/C vac supply line and main manifold vac line

I feel like I’m getting closer to solving the a/c vac
problem my car has. It actually seems to cool pretty well,
but the center vent rarely opens all the way up and will
close under accelleration. I’ve put a generic vacuum check
valve from NAPA in this line, but it doesn’t seem to make a
difference. Oddly enough, it will sometimes open all the way
up out of the blue while cruising on the highway.
My question is where does the a/c vac supply line tap into
the main manifold vacuum line, and how does it relate to the
three-way vacuum distribution gadget?
I’ve tried several different ways of setting this up, and
none seem to make a difference. All the underhood vac lines
are new. It’s possible that the vacuum gadget behind the
driver’s side console could be leaking, but I’m trying to
avoid that.

William:
It is a long time since I have had a Mark II delanaire unit, but this
might help. The Mark III unit vacuum line enters the firewall very low down,
beside the battery on LHD cars. Recently my centre vent was not opening and
there were other anomalies. I discovered that I had accidentally dislodged
one of the two vacuum lines going into the firewall. Once it was replaced,
proper operation was restored. You might want to check to see if there is a
similar problem there.
