Fazel - Both Gregory and Doug Ingram contacted me off list to
advise that a relationship does exist between the Victoria, BC and
Melbourne JCCV organizations. They also noted how supportive and
helpful the Australian contingent has been to the Victoria club.
They failed to mention anything about alternating meeting sites
between the two clubs, however.–

Bruce: we were hoping that you would keep mum about this. What the
Jaguar Car Club of Victoria (Canada) has been planning is a pre-emptive
regime-change invasion strike on JCCV (Australia) in Melbourne with a
large element of shock and awe. We need their clubhouse; we are certain
the whole thing will be over quickly and that the Aussies will welcome
us with open arms and flowers. We will then organize new elections of
officers who will ask us to stay. It’s in the bag.

Guys, Club Meeting is on the first Tuesday of every month except January. Bar
opens at 7:30, meeting begins at 8:00. Supper is served approx 10.00-10.30 and
the bar shuts about 11.30.
Most other nights there are Register meetings (XK, E-type, etc)and of course
the Austin Healy chaps use the place itself. BTW, we have some front office
space available for lease, if anyone is interested.
Every Jaguar enthusiast or visiting Club member is welcome (just remember the
secret handshake at the door!)And, ‘Cannara’ Yellow and/or Satin Black colours
are frowned upon!

I wonder what the Canadians will threaten us with? A cheeky but robust pinot?
Or, dare I say it, a Merlot?

That’s only if you have to pay him, Doug. Surely the club is not reduced to
that level? Just raffle off one Greg’s many cars and you’ll have a
down-payment on some club rooms.

My original reply seems to have gone astray… however…Well done!,I
enjoyed the pics and the humorous article, particularly as I met Jason when
I bought his XJS off him 18 mnths or so ago…

Hey Fazal, how many JCCV’s are there? I’m trying to bribe my way
into the JCCV I thought was a bit north of here (Jaguar Car Club of
Victoria) and assumed it was in British Columbia. Perhaps you,
Gregory and Doug Ingram should negotiate a two-for-one deal:
Membership in one JCCV automatically includes membership in all
JCCV’s! You could even alternate monthly meeting locations!–

for description. The references to the JCCV had me in tears of laughter!
You know, Bruce, they say the sincerest form of flattery is imitation!
There are two sister clubs. Melbourne & Victoria, BC.
And, yes, I wish I could negotiate a ‘joint membership’ fee. It would ease
the pain a bit of being a member of both. Still, maybe we can offer true
reciprocal rights as soon as they build their new clubhouse? (It’s coming,
right, Gregory?)
