I have 1971 S1 that has been partly restored by a PO who gained a
lot of help from this group on a range of issues. He tried 3
different electric aerials but they wouldn’t fit. I have tried
another but it fouls the vent ducting and looks as if it will have
a forward rake when raised.
Does anyone know of an electric aerial that will fit under front
fender without fouling the fresh air ducting and will stand
vertical?
Thanks in anticipation.–

And, if you fail, get some fine copper wire (32-40 AWG) and clear tape. Run
the wire under the tape, next to the side & top edges of the glass. Bring one
end of the wire under the dash top and solder it to the center conductor of
the coax from the radio. Ground the shield of the coax nearby. Now you’ll
have no worrys about antenna ups & downs, and the antenna will be aligned
better for FM.–

Alex, Thanks for the idea. I’ll give that a try for now and put the
plan for the Auto antenna on the back burner.
