On this engine and car, no !
On other critters, out and in situ, yes.
Room for the BFH is essential. Room for prying or a slide
hammer is essential.
Next is a clean block for the new plug to seat properly,
and as such seal.
Then, the room thing again, to drive the plug home. More
BFH and a suitable driver.
Or, a tad of a block sealer, the crystal type.
Way back when, a similar issue occurred on my 58 Pontiac
Star Chief. a small plug at the rear of the head on the
left bank. Should’ve removed the head. Not all that bad a
task.
But, nope, I drilled a series of small holes as a method of
making an access opening. Worked, a slide hammer pulled
out the one with the hole. Enough room to drive hoe an new
plug. A sheet metal patch secured the hole and all was
well, til the next issue…

The ‘‘cylinder block core plug’’, part number C168623 is
leaking by my exhaust manifold. Not a lot, but enough to
annoy me.
