Hi guys… well its been 2 months since catastrophic hub
carrier failure and I am pleased to say Beatrix is back on
all 4 paws.
I couldn t have got through this without the help and
support of this forum,the ‘Book’ and some sound advice from
Rob Wade.
The broken carrier is replaced, the cracked one is
repaired,per Rob’s advice.(I was able to find a welder who
specializes in ‘‘hard to weld’’ items)Bearings replaced. While
I was in there I was astonished at the state of the radius
arms so replaced those too.After reading many posts in this
forum was a bit intimidated by the front of radius arms but
they were a breeze compared to the rusted mess on the back
fitting.I had to cut one off.I’ll be posting some pix right
away.
As an aside, the welder worked for me when he was a 16 yr
old,and I always thought he; turn out to be a useless member
of society.But, here he is 15 yrs later,got his act
together.Its great to see.Maybe we were all useless when we
were 16 heheheh.
