[xj-s] XJS 3.6 1988 Miss fire

Hello
I have an '88 XJS 3.6 - I laid it up last summer in a lock
up, it was running a treat at the time. I just started it
and it is miss-firing. I have left it running to see it will
‘‘dry-out’’ but still the miss-fire remains. I seem to
remember an XJS years back having a relay on the inner wing
with corroded contacts which was causing this???

Hi your 3.6 engine missfire might be caused by a very small
fuel filter , located inside of the rubber fuel hose coming from
the fuel rail to the starting injector, its less than 2’’ long and
a 1/4’’ round, also the Relay on the inner right wing controls
the power for fuel injectors, . I have a 1986 XJSC 3.6 5
spds…remove this filter , clean it with high pressure water ,
dried and replace , the screens are micro .–
