I am reassembling the inlet system while replacing all air
hoses.
Could anyone please reassure me as to the correct
orientation of the Deceleration Valve.
‘‘It is a spring mounted on a flange’’ is my best description,
and is on page 1I08R in my parts manual. It is mounted
within the hardware that contains the idle air screw and
vacuum take off.
When I removed this part the decel valve dropped to the
floor; I had no time to notice how it was mounted. In the
parts manual it only shows it '‘spring downwards’ seaparate
from the housing but unless I am missing something it cannot
mount that way.
It would seem the spring should be topside but before I
reassemble I would be very grateful for any input. I cannot
conceive how it does anything.
sincerely,
Dave Hardy
