more work!..lol
I’m convinced the PO re-routed the vacuum lines, there are
too many '‘T’'s I think…i’ve drawn the part of the system
i’m concerned about and included a link to a drawing I made.
Please look at the drawing if you have time
There is a spigot on the side of the throttle body which
most of the system seems to be connected to, and a spigot
just up and left from that one which has a blanking plug on
it. The spigot under the air intake is connected to the one
way valve as shown in my artistic rendering!
The item I have marked ‘‘reservoir’’ is my guess…i cannot
figure out how this works, could anyone explain?
does this diagram look correct to you? http://tinyurl.com/yflm768--

Thanks David. The only difference I can see from my setup is
that I have a T sending a line from ‘‘delay’’ to the spigot
under the intake manifold.
The location of the spigots is a little difficult to
understand in Alex’s diagram though. I am still unsure what
the spigot under the intake manifold should be connected to.
I am also not sure if the line which goes out from the left
side of the throttle body should connect to ‘‘carb’’ on the valve.
His diagram has a ‘‘one way valve’’ in the line from ‘‘delay’’
to ‘‘delanaire AC’’ I don’t remember seeing one on my car,
just the valve with the 3 spigots.–

Got to be a little careful here because UK manifolds and vac
routing are different (among themselves, as well) but if there’s a
pipe on the underneath at the back, pointing straight down, it’s
the drain. Cap it with a short length of tube and block the end.
You definitely need a non-return valve in the line that goes to the
bulkhead.
Doesn’t show the nrv but gives a clue about pipe routings.–

The spigot under my intake manifold does not point down…it
points horizontal…so I don’t think it is a drain…although
i cannot feel ANY spigots pointing down. Unfortunatly mp
parts car is pulled apart so I cannot even check how that is
routed–

I found the drain spigot and it is not capped…if it is a
drain, why would it be capped?..would it NOT be able to
drain with a cap?..and what is it draining?
The spigot I need help with connecting is about 2 inches
forward of the drain and points horizontal–

FIXED FIXED FIXED
I took a drive to check my unmolested parts car (i’m so
lucky to have 2!)
not only was my car routed incorrectly but I was missing the
one way valve you mentioned. I routed mine correctly and
included the one way valve. Now the heat works correctly
(another thread)
Thanks for the pointers, maybe I would not have noticed the
valve on the PC if you had not mentioned it.–
