Ok money is not really a problem here as all three cars are
relatively cheap. (background) I have had 15 plus XJ cars
over the years. I currently own a 40k mile XJ12 harvest gold
with leaf green leather, a 84 series III slightly modified
with xj8 seats, xjs lattice wheels, 7 inch lights, keyless
entry in black/beige and a 2001 XJ8 black/beige. I am having
a tough time justifying having 3 jaguar sedans that are so
close in content. Which should I keep?
The XJ12 is low miles, and I love the large motor in the
sedan, but is not my favorite color
The XJ6 VDP is great, but I live in Oklahoma with 105 summer
temps, and as we all know A/C does not even come close on
days like that to the newer cars. Plus it seems not old
enough to be a classic.
The XJ8 VDP does everything right, but lacks soul. There is
something about the older cars. The ride quality I think is
better, and they seem like modern classics.
What would you do? In a perfect world I would keep all, but
I just don’t think that is a viable option. I also have 5
other classics I really should never sell, plus a truck and
my wifes car. storage, insurance and maintenence gets to
you.–

Buy em all.
Then you have ALL your bases covered.
Colour does grow on you eventually.
The ‘‘classic’’ can be used when it ‘‘cools’’ down a bit.
No comment on the XJ8, dont like them at all.

The X300 is what I’d sell all of them for. But, the problem is, the
one’s you have - are virtually worth little or nothing. So just
keep 'em. You’ll have the best of all worlds between the three of
them.–

First thing first:
Ditch the XJ8, like you said, no soul, no character and no style.
After you cross that bridge you will have ample time to decide
between two great keepers.
I’ll keep both of them if you ask me.
Gold over green can be a rare and exquisite combo.–
