[xj40] lower rear shock bushes

I’ve been trying to locate some new bushes for my rear shocks and
have been unable to. I finally got a round tuit and was measuring
them up to see if I could find a suitable replacement from another
source. while measuring I took a few moments to examing them. Its
seems as if the play I detected is not play but part of the design
of the bush.
Am I right in thinking that the bottom bush is more of a ball
joint type affair that pivots in the middle?
it is like no other bush I have seen , and I doubt that it right
name is something other than bush.
has anyone fitted new rear shocks and did they have a standard
bush fitted or something akin to a swivel joint?

That style of shock with the ‘spherical joint’ lower fitting
is the one fitted to late model XJ40s with the X300 type
rear suspension - I sent you a picture of it previously:-

See item 34 in the picture - a replaceable spherical joint.

The pre- VIN 696460 rear shocks had the bonded rubber
‘Silentbloc’ type lower mounting bush as I explained in a
previous post in your ‘‘rear spring’’ thread.–
