[xj40] Manuals

Back again with yet another question

We have the Haynes Manual…it is not enough. Looked at the JDHT
CD’s and cannot figure out what we need for a 1991 VDP

Suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

There are really only two for you to choose from for a '91 VDP
depending on which engine you have.

4.0 litre = JHM 1153

3.2 litre = JHM 1171

I don’t really see what the difference can be between the CDs. I
have the JHM1153 for my 4.0 litre '91 and as far as I can see, it
covers everything on the 3.2 also.–

Hello, Would someone please tell me what manuals should have come
with my 1988 VDP.I have the operators mmanual, but I’m sure there
should be others. Also, how about a good source for obtaining them.
All help appreciated. Thanks,Terry–

Hi- somewhere on this website is a spot to order the
maintenance/shop manual and parts book on cd rom. It is all the
original factory literature in one spot, and really a great
reference. In addition there were an owners manual and service
manual in the glove box, I imagine there was also a warranty book
somewhere. I also have a factory radio instruction book in mine-
all in a nice BRG leatherette Jaguar cover.

I highly recommend the cd- well worth the money!

Beware of the con-men on eBay, flogging their ripped-off copies of
the JDHT CD-ROMs for inflated prices.–

I’m beginning some projects on my 1994 xj6, and I’m wondering which
set of CD’s and or manuals I should get. Can anyone steer me to
the ones I need?
Thanks–

Bill,

If it’s a 4.0 litre XJ6, JDHT CD-Rom #JHM1153 is the one
which contains the basic Servicing and Parts information for
your model as well as a set of circuit diagrams.

You can supplement that with JHM1130 for detailed
information on various other matters including On-Board
Diagnostic fault code identification, testing and causes of
faults.
