[xj40] Rear Door Handle

OK, so I thought I’d make a little adjustment on my rear door latch on my 90
Jag so the lever isn’t at the very top of the lever travel…well I over
adjusted it and broke the plastic pivot piece off the door lock
mechanism…now I’m screwed…I suspect I’ll have to buy a new door lock
mechanism…anybody have a good source or is this a dealer only item?

how to fabricate a metal replacement. I have not done this myself
but it looks fairly easy and the metal replacement should hold up
better than the original plaastic–

I’ve gotten hold of a used handle and I’m replacing the lock mechanism…door
never closed right anyway…
