Here is my example: When you pull up to pick up someone, how does the passenger get in. This model doesnt have a button to press to unlock doors.? I have to reach over
to unlock the door. The locks work fine otherwise, they all lock when you put in drive,
and all lock/unlock with remote.

In what country are you located?
My 1999, 2000 and 2001 XJ8s all have the switch on the center console to LOCK/UNLOCK the doors while the ignition is ON.

On My ‘99 XJR I just pull my drivers door handle and that releases the locks without opening my door.
